Van Gogh glass is killing me...

Van Gogh is a very expensive type of silver glass, that requires just the right alignment of the stars to do what is supposed to do...After wasting half of my assortment, I was finally able to get the color to come out. This glass bead set features the focal I made with Van Gogh.

I just LOVE the colors!!!

busy, busy, busy...

It's been a busy week, and I only have today off. It was a very productive day though...made a lot of beads, chores, and even baked dinner and a rum cake for the husband.

Here's a very interesting bead...it looks like the hand of Godzilla getting ahold of the moon. That's what I see anyway...

Is it over already?!

Man, my days off are over and time just flew right by...managed to make some pieces, wasted a lot of time trying to take pictures of the most difficult set to photograph so far, visited friends and their adorable little baby girl Kirra, cleaned the house, laundry, dinner, walk in desert, bathed the dogs (Gigi, Rusty's girlfriend, is staying over tonight), took care of shipments, listed some new sets...I'M TIRED! And is back to work tomorrow...

it's Sunday, and is my day off...

It's always good to be off...I had a lot of plans for today, but in the end, I didn't get a whole lot accomplished. I wanted to spend a few hours torching, but my propane tank decided to run out on me. I did make some stuff though, but I will not see them until tomorrow. Here's a picture of one my auctions that ended today.

new everything!

Today I got this handy lightbox to better the quality of my pictures. I tested it with a bead I made using the new glass I received a few days ago. I also found this really cool website, talentdabase.com. Here's my page : http://thedb.com/fireflyhandmadeglass . yeay! is the weekend!!!

Nevada SPCA

I'm so excited! I'm going to create a piece especially for the Nevada SPCA. It will be auctioned at their festival in October. I have a few ideas...can't wait to try them! Meanwhile, people are going crazy over this set on justbeads.com. Funny thing is, I was not really sure about it when I made it...go figure.

Wanna a puppy? Adopt one!

Help Puppies

We found our Rusty at the Nevada SPCA, and he's the sweetest dog ever!

aaah...new glass...

Today I had lost of fun with a new order of glass I received from Frantz Art Glass. Great service, I totally recommed this company! I even got some free glass. I don't have any pictures of the new stuff I made yet, but I'll post as soon as I do. In the meantime, I have my fingers crossed in hopes that I will be the winner of "LampworkEtc.com Miss Pageant". Heres' my bikini shot...I worked really hard to get my muscles pumped up and ready for this pic.

All right, it's not really my body... :0)

My glass stuff...

My hobby is playing with fire... melting glass and making beads. Flameworking is something I really enjoy, and I have been fascinated with glass ever since my first visit to the Bermuda Glassblowing Studio. Well, the fact that I got a job there kinda helped... :)

Here's a sample of my work...I have tons more on my website (http://www.fireflyhandmadeglass.com/), and I also sell them on Just Beads.

My dog!!!

He's Rusty and he's super cool! Here he is, wearing his vest so he can safely ride the jet-ski with mommy and daddy. No beaches around here (freaking desert), so we go to Lake Mead.

My first post...

OK, here are the things I live for: my husband, my family, my dog, and my glasswork. I love spending time at home (party days are over!), where I can just relax and enjoy my life.

My husband and I really enjoy watching movies, so our "quality time together" generally translates to watching movies in the comfort of our own home, with our precious dog keeping us company. We make a good pair, because we are both annoyed by most people in the world (well, maybe just the stupid ones). We hate going to the movies and putting up with disrespectful people who take their toddlers to the late night showing of "Damien"(I am not kidding).

Am I anti-social? No, I can be very social around the people I love. Unfortunatelly, because I'm originally from Brazil, most people in that category are still there. Or in Bermuda, where I lived for 3 years. So instead of wasting my time and social skills unnecessarily, I just stay home. And I am much happier that way!
We did have a blast on our vacation last year though (picture)...I guess when you're on vacation, your brain switches off and auto-pilot takes over. And it's great! We went to Cayman Islands, and it was the first time we took a vacation together that did no involve visiting family.
I guess this is pretty good for my first post... ;)
